The Presentation of the Homecoming Queen and the Football Queen
The following is the general outline of events for the presentation ceremonies of the Queens and the exchange of gifts
between the senior players and their Best girls. The activities varied between years as well as the Presenters and
groups participating.
The Homecoming Queen was elected by vote of the school body. During the pre-game ceremonies she would be presented
along with her court to the fans and then crowned Queen. Her court was made up of representatives from each of
the four classes.
The Football Queen was elected by vote of the football team. During the half-time ceremonies she would be presented
along with her court to the fans and then crowned Queen. Her court was made up of representatives one from each of
the classes.
After the Football Queen's presentation the Senior class players would escort their Best Girls onto the field where they
would exchange gifts. Typically each girl presented her player with a gold football strung on black and gold ribbons
and then placed it around his neck. The player then presented a corsage to his girl and pinned it on her dress.
At the end of the ceremonies the field was cleared and the play resumed. The Bees would then go on to win the game,
most times.
